With a good 3D program and software it is possible to make lifelike photorealistic renderings. It is also possible to make images which leave a lot to the imagination of the viewer and could be from another world. The ‘Futuristic Building’ could be on a rather icy planet where the unknown inhabitants like to give color to their creations. Of the two images below, the truck (workhorse) is an almost photorealistic rendering set in an unusual surrounding. The ‘Roman Temple’ however could also be on another planet or in a futuristic scene. The focus is on the object, the setting or scene is secondary but adds to the completeness of the picture. Most of the 3D Models were free downloads from the Internet or on cover CD’s from Computer Magazines. Textures are homemade. The 3D scenes and images were made and rendered with different versions of; Bryce, Truespace and Cinema 4D. The finishing was done in Photoshop. A bit more about 3D on the next page. |
